*blushes* I won another RAK!

I can't believe my luck! I won another RAK at another fellow Sistv'ers blog! Thanks Callista!

I definitely wanna keep the karma gods happy so I think I'm gonna have to do another RAK in order to pay all of my RAK luck forward!

This past weekend I did a fundraiser garage sale at Darren's school and I came upon some unexpected goodies. I'll post the RAK tomorrow so you'll have to come back tomorrow for the peek!

So these photos are a bit late but Darren and I went to the pumpkin patch last Friday to pick up our pumpkins. Can you believe Halloween is already Friday???

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to check out my RAK #2!

Blog Slacker

Sorry it's been a while since my last update. I've been too busy scrapping!

Last Monday was the start of my first online scrap class over at SiStv taught by the amazing Stacey Fike. It's called "10 from 52" which is based around using playing cards as the basis for scrap pages or mini-books.

We've been creating a 'daily' each day which is just a simple and brief diary of a day in the life of me. We also have other daily challenges such as using paint or using a specific prompt to add to our daily journals. One of my favorites so far was to create a daily from a favorite recipe, food or drink. Of course, this was a no-brainer for me:

So here are my other dailies up through Thursday. Yeah, I'm still a bit behind!

I'm trying to trudge through the onset of my winter blues but it's definitely affected me this week. I only went to the gym twice (!) I've been sneaking chocolate out of the Halloween candy stash and just have been feeling a bit lazy overall.

I'd have to say the highlight of the week was taking advantage of the opening of our new town's movie theater on Wednesday night. All movies were free with $1 popcorn and sodas. Bruce stayed home with Darren so Ginger and I saw "What Happens in Vegas" with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. Obviously, all of the movies showing at the theater were movies that were already out on video, but that movie was HILARIOUS! At the end of the picture Ginger and I were in tears. We obviously enjoyed ourselves so much that an older gentleman sitting in the row in front of us turned around at the end of the movie and said, "You girls definitely got your money's worth tonight!" LOL!!!

I am definitely going to have to invest in buying that movie because I can see myself watching it over and over again. It will be a movie to watch while scrapping, that's for sure!

On that subject, what movies do you watch when you scrap? My favorites:

1. The Holiday (Jude Law & Cameron Diaz - hmm...do I see a pattern here?)

2. The Devil Wears Prada

3. Notting Hill

I promise I'll post again more regularly this coming week!

It's all about the KARMA!

For those of you that follow my blog you know that I just yesterday gave away my first RAK.

And it's all about the Karma, right???

I discover this morning that I have won my first RAK EVER!!! Yay!

I posted a comment on a fellow SiStv member's blog and won! Check out my winnings:

Thanks Noelia! I can't wait to get my goodies! It'll help me continue on with my 'no more scrappy purchases for a while' pact I have with Ginger. Free scrappy goodies don't count! Ha!

On a bummer note, we found out yesterday morning that Darren does in fact have strep throat. So he's on antibiotics for the next 10 days. We did still manage to go to MIL's house for gumbo yesterday. Mmmmmmmm!!!!

Oh, and I finished my second scrappy project so I have just one more to go! (although I hope to finish more before the end of this month.) That way, I'll feel better about buying more scrappy stuff later. ;)

and the RAK winner is...

scrap {n} flava! Or Jessica according to her blog! Congrats! Please e-mail me your addy at kauaigal@comcast.net so I can mail out your vintage trim! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

On a less exciting note, my little guy has had a high fever these past few days so he's been home from school. Poor guy. He seems to be doing better today. I hope it stays that way because tomorrow we have plans to go to my MIL's for some GUMBO. I certainly don't want to miss that!

Tomorrow is me and hubby's 10-year wedding anniversary. How has time gone by so quickly???

Project 1 down...2 to go!

Ginger and I made a bet yesterday. We have been going through our out-of-control stash of scrappy supplies and tossing out STACKS of paper, alphas, embellies, you name it. We need to start a scrapbook supply addiction program. Stat.

We have also both been complaining about how many unfinished projects we have so we made a bet that we both need to finish 3 projects by month's end. If we don't get them done then the loser buys the winner a drink! (or two!)

So, I finally finished this mini-book of a hike we took the boys on this past summer while on one of our many camping trips.

This hike (and book) all came from a story my dad told me. Earlier this summer while on a camping trip he tried to convince some of his grandkids to go on a hike with him but they all boo-hoo'd the idea. So, my dad tried to get the kids excited about an adventure: Do you want me to show you the famous bridge from the Indiana Jones movie? Of course the response was a resounding "Yes!"

It was his way of enticing the kids to go trail hiking.

On a camping trip this past summer I wanted to take the kids on a hike up a 1-mile loop trail to get a bit of exercise and figured they wouldn't want to go if I told them we were just going hiking. So, I asked the boys if they would like to go on a hunt to find Indiana Jones's crystal skull. Talk about hitting the jackpot! These boys were excited! Of course, you'll have to look at the book to see what happened...
